I downloaded some videos for an english project off my digital camera, and I have to edit them. But when I go into Windows Movie Maker to try and do so; I attempt to import the videos, but it doesn't work, it says it is not a supported file. So I need to know how to change my .MOV files into something compatible for Windows Movie Maker.

Don't pay for a converter. There's an excellent free %26amp; easy to use converter that will do exactly what you need, and much more: SUPER
http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
It supports conversion to most formats, even flv, mov, mpeg4, rm and many others. Conversion to sound-only is also possible.
Steps:
1) drag the .mov file to the super window
2) Select as output WMV, codec: ms-mpeg4-v2. This will import into MovieMaker. Be certain to check the option "High Quality" on the right, so the quality is not degraded during conversion.
3) Right-mouse click anywhere in the super window and change the output folder, otherwise the converted file will wind up in the installation folder of super. Choose "specify output destination..." to change it.
4) optional: change any other option, like framerate and size, if you like!
5) start encoding. It takes some time, depending on the filesize of the original file.
That's it! Drag the converted file to MovieMaker. It will now work.
CHeers!

you must get mov to avi converter software.
you can find it in www.download.com
for search type "mov to avi"
http://www.xilisoft.com/mov-converter.ht...
Use the free trial of it. You could also buy it, too. Only 30 bucks. Actually pretty cheap for a convertor like that.
