Windows movie maker is good but it crashes on some files I was just wonder if theres something as good or better I can download even if it's a free trial ?

A free download, and quite powerful, but it takes some time to learn properly. It's geared towards professional video editing %26amp; effects (even painting is included).

Others to take a look at, are:

Ulead VideoStudio 11

Magix Movie Edit Pro 12

Power Director (very easy to use, but some features missing for more pro work)

Pinnacle Studio

Magix video products seem to get good reviews all round, while Power Director is an easy to use product. Pinnacle Studio often seems to have issues with stability, so you might want to check that first on your computer. A friend of mine encountered so many problems, he gave up on Pinnacle.

Magix learning curve is a bit higher than Power Director, but offers more features. Generally, it seems these three products receive better reviews than Pinnacle products. I've read some users' frustrated experiences with Pinnacle. Also, make sure the product supports hd. Magix seems to offer way more than the standard version of Pinnacle, while the costs are comparable.

Again, try the demo versions before opting for a final solution.

Avid is the de facto industry standard, and they do a free cut-down version.
