How do I get a video from a file on my computer into Windows Movie Maker?

I have old video clips from my digital camera on my computer, but can't figure out how to get them into Windows Movie Maker, does anyone know how to do that? thanks!!

oh and the videos are already windows movie files or whatever

How do I get a video from a file on my computer into Windows Movie Maker?windows 95

open window movie maker

go on File %26gt; import into collections... %26gt; select your video file and click open, then it may take a while to upload onto movie maker depending on the video size %26gt; after uploading, your video should appear at the center (the video may be split into several clips if it is long)

To start making your movie, click and drag the video clips onto the timeline at the bottom %26gt; cut, paste, and rearrange to make your video.

hope this helps!

Drag your file into the timeline.
Codecs supported by WMM (aside from not many)

Video files: .asf, .avi, .wmv

?Movie files: MPEG1, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2

?Audio files: .wav, .snd, .au, .aif, .aifc, .aiff

?Windows Media files: .asf, .wm, .wma, .wmv

?Still images: .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe, .jfif, .gif

?MP3 format audio: .mp3

Get klite if none of those are sufficient which they probably wont be. WMM is crap.

Better options are

iMovie08 on Mac - Best in its class.

or

Adobe Premier Pro - excellent.

Nero Video

Pinnacle Studio

Sony Vegas

Ulead Video Studio

etc
